Project Management

All projects are assigned a dedicated and knowledgeable project manager who works directly with contractors to coordinate the design, installation and certification of the determined fire protection system. This includes working with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction to provide all necessary project documentation.

Your project manager will ensure deadlines and budgets are met by managing all system integrators and technicians, ordering and scheduling necessary equipment, working with local permits, and more.

The project manager will work with you and local officials for the final testing and certification of the system.

System Design

Once a fire protection system has been determined, our team conducts a thorough application design process, performs all necessary design or flow calculations for the clean agent or water-based system, and reviews all necessary performance-based strategies.

For example, to work effectively, clean agents must remain at a certain concentration long enough to suppress fire, which requires airtight construction and adherence to NFPA 2001 and NFPA 75.

We will help prepare the spaces for clean agent fire suppression by ensuring each room and doorways are properly constructed and sealed, and the HVAC system has the correct dampers and shutdown interlocks so the clean agent doesn’t escape during a discharge.

On the electrical side, we coordinate all necessary connections to the releasing control panel, emergency power-off functions, and dedicated power circuits, and we integrate the system with building life-safety requirements when needed. We also evaluate unique conditions, such as aisle containment, humidification, continuous HVAC and purge systems, to ensure every protected space meets clean agent performance standards.

Installation

Once project planning is complete, our certified technicians will begin the installation process of the fire protection system, which may include mounting any necessary detection devices, pull stations, control panels, suppression equipment, piping, cylinders, nozzles and all supporting electrical work per project specifications.

Every component is placed according to approved layouts, spacing requirements and environmental considerations such as airflow, heat sources, machinery clearances and hazard zones.

After installation, our team programs the fire alarm control panels, interfaces, releasing modules and monitoring equipment, ensuring reliable communication between detection and suppression systems. For suppression systems, we pressure-test piping, verify flow rates and properly secure storage cylinders before performing controlled functional tests.

Commissioning & Maintenance

Once the system is installed, we will test and verify all aspects of the fire protection system to certify it is operating properly and meets not just applicable regulatory standards but also our personal high standards of quality.

We also make sure that facility managers are educated on the details of the new system and ensure they understand how it interacts with existing equipment and personnel. Our goal is to provide the most reliable system possible that meets all codes and specifications, and that necessary parties understand how it operates.

After the installation is completed and certified, and the team has been thoroughly trained on how to use the new system, we will be there to conduct code- and warranty-required, ongoing preventative maintenance.

And rest assured, if something does come up, we are here if you need us 24/7 to respond to emergencies.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s common for a project to require our assistance determining the most reliable and cost-effective solution that meets not just fire codes and AHJ requirements but also ensures the protection of mission critical assets and avoids downtime. That’s when we may recommend a hazard assessment and thorough application review. Furthermore, because we have the expertise and a toolkit of the latest fire detection and suppression systems, we are confident that we can meet the needs of nearly any challenge.

Documentation is a core component of the commissioning and closeout process, as it includes assembling a complete package of reports, submittals and confirmations that show the system was installed and tested in accordance with necessary standards and codes.

NFPA-required inspections and testing varies depending on the device, but some level of inspection is often required monthly or quarterly, while full testing is usually performed annually. We are here to help determine the frequency of these inspections and can perform them to ensure you are compliant and protected.

From low batteries, to a broken detector, to a discharge of a system, our staff is ready to respond and will bring the system back to full operation as quickly as possible. One of the most important needs of our customers is to have the required agent in stock. We have these agents on hand and pride ourselves on having the system back in service within 24 hours after a discharge, if not much sooner.

We have decades of experience completing end-to-end fire protection systems in data centers, office buildings, restaurants, hospitals, warehouses, manufacturing plants (food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical), airports and hangers, power generation facilities, museums and historical sites, and many more.
