Chemical Agents
Fike chemical agents extinguish fire through heat absorption which occurs as they change from a liquid to a vapor during discharge. They are safe for occupied spaces and absorb large amounts of heat and extinguish fires by cooling the combustion zone.
Offered Agents
- SF-1230 – Drop-in replacement for new and existing 3M Novec 1230 installations.
- FK-5-1-12 – Viable alternative to 3M Novec 1230; may have quicker lead times.
- FM-200 – Most used and globally recognized chemical agent.
- ECARO-25 – Cost-effective chemical agent; requires 20 percent less agent per cubic/meter than FM-200.
Fike Inert Gas Suppression System
The Fike Inert Gas System absorbs heat at the molecular level to a concentration that is unsustainable for fires but safe for people and the environment. The system aims to improve operational and logistical efficiency as well as total cost of ownership when compared to other fire suppression solutions.
IG-541 – Fike Premier Inert Agent
Fike Inert Gas System equipped with IG-541 (N2 52% | AR 40% | CO2 8%) is one of the industry’s only inert gas fire suppression systems that is UL/FM approved for two-minute discharge, which reduces the required amount of piping and ventilation.
Other inert agents which may be used in Fike Inert Systems include:
- IG-100 (N2 100%) – UL/FM, LPCB
- IG-55 (N2 50% | AR 50%) – UL/FM, LPCB
- IG-01 (AR 100%) – LPCB
All inert gas fire suppression systems have zero environmental impact, meaning they are PFAS free, safe for occupied spaces and future-proof against regulations, but the following unique advantages make Fike Inert Gas Systems and its proprietary Fike Slide Valve stand out from other inert gas systems:
- Single-banked cylinder can protect multiple zones and reach nearly any location
- Often significantly less to refill than other suppression systems, improving cost of ownership
- Uniform cylinder sizes & fill levels reduce logistics and support faster cylinder swaps
- Scales to mult-site organizations to reduce spare part inventory, training and operational costs
Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression
Fike’s Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression System is an effective and versatile method of fire extinguishment used to minimize downtime in industrial environments and in localized applications not possible by other forms of fire suppression.
Retaining the agent within the protected space reduces the fire’s ability to re-ignite. In addition, CO2 has a cooling effect on the surrounding atmosphere that benefits fire extinguishment. Because carbon dioxide is a gas, no cleanup is required after a Fike CO2 fire suppression system discharges.
CO2 is the only agent that’s been tested and validated for localized application discharge. This allows reliable suppression for specific hazard areas, rather than requiring a total flood of the space.
If this application demands CO2 suppression, you can trust our team to design and implement one that is safe and reliable for unoccupied spaces.
